Minnesota battles Chicago on Saturday to retain lead in the Central Division

July 22, 2021

The Minnesota Wind Chill return to Sea Foam Stadium this Saturday, July 24 at 6:00pm. They’ll take on the Chicago Union in a battle for first place in the Central Division.

The Wind Chill (6-1) are on a five-game win streak following a win this past weekend over the Detroit Mechanix. Their one loss on the year came to Chicago back in Week 2, though they picked up the upset win over the Union in their second meeting of the season two weeks ago. They’ll meet in Minnesota for the first time this week, and with Chicago sitting at 6-2 in second place, the winner will be in sole possession of first place in the division.

The Wind Chill have been carried this season by the play of several new additions. Rookie handler Andrew Roy, who leads the league in completions per game, has been an every-week difference maker for the offense. Another rookie, 19-year-old Edina High School product Will Brandt, has been extremely productive in his four games this season, averaging 4.5 scores per game. Lastly, journeyman Brett Matzuka—who has played on five different AUDL teams—has led the Minnesota defensive line in completions, assists, and throwing yards since joining the lineup in Week 3.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
